Glenda G. Warren, 84, of Springfield, passed away on January 16, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on July 5, 1934 in Springfield to Kelly A. and Gracie V. Clark Grant Sr. Glenda married George Niles Warren and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1991.
Mrs. Warren is survived by her children: Grant (Claudia) Warren of Springfield, Niles Warren of Champaign, and Laura (Roger) Barge of Kansas City, MO., five grandchildren: David Warren, Scott (Teresa) Warren, Laura (Cameron) Taylor, Warren Barge and Georgia Barge, two great-grandchildren: Cameron Warren and Henry Taylor, two brothers: Kelly Albert Grant Jr., and Gerald “Pete” Grant and one sister Dorlis Pearce. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Glenda was an artist, art teacher and a member of the Springfield Art Association. She was a founding member of the Women’s Art Alliance which became the Prairie Art Alliance and is now a part of the Springfield Art Association, and a founding board member of the Liturgical Arts Festival of Springfield. Mrs. Warren was a member of the Grateful Daughters Circle of King’s Daughters, the PEO Sisterhood Chapter DC, the Red Hat Society, the Springfield Tree Commission, Island Bay Yacht Club and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on February 23, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 South Walnut Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Art Association and please visit the online “Life Remembered Story” at www.bischandsonfuneralhome.com.
