Westminster Congregational Care
…‘for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, |
Rev. Christian Ko Choi, Associate Pastor for Parish Life, oversees this ministry. If you, your family member or another Westminster member is hospitalized or home-bound for any reason, please call Jennie Alt, Church Administrative Assistant at 217-522-4415.
The Deacons’ Congregational Care Committee connects with home-bound members and caregivers to help them stay involved in the life of the church. Services include home visits, home communion, and delivering Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies. A knitters’ group makes prayer shawls for people who are hospitalized or in nursing homes.
The Westminster Parish Nurse, Ellen Carpenter provides services including monthly blood pressure checks, a biannual health fair, taking meals to members who have been discharged from the hospital, and visiting hospitalized members.
The Westminster Prayer Circle prays for Westminster members and receives special requests by email in addition to a Prayer Ministry where the pastors pray for each member of the congregation over the course of the year. We also have a Card Ministry and Meal Ministry for those who have been discharged from the hospital.
