SPRINGFIELD - William Frederick Trapp, 52, of Springfield died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Lincoln, the son of Robert and Dorothy Ward Trapp. He married Ann P. Robert in 1989 in Springfield.
Mr. Trapp graduated with honors from Oberlin College in 1974 and from Washington University School of Law in 1976. He worked as an attorney with the Sangamon County State's Attorney Office from 1977-81 and in civil litigation practice with Brown, Hay and Stephens since 1981, becoming a partner in 1984. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Abraham Lincoln Association, the Lincoln Douglas American Inn of Court Governing Board and the American, Illinois State and Sangamon County bar associations. He served on the Illinois Symphony Orchestra board for 10 years.
Survivors: wife, Ann P. Robert; son, Benjamin Trapp, at home; daughter, Emma Trapp, at home; stepson, Christopher Sabo of Springfield; mother, Dorothy of Springfield; brother, RObert G. Trapp of Springfield; three half sisters, Linda Trapp (husband, Dan) Splain of Lincoln, Kathy (husband, Chuck) Kilhoffer of Buffalo and Lydia Minick of Mount Pulaski; half brother, Michael (wife, Debbie) Trapp of Tinley Park; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Shelly White Wood and the Rev. Mark S. Merrill officiating.
