Richard Evan Newtson  1950 - 2001

SPRINGFIELD - Richard E. Newtson, 50, of Springfield died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Aug. 17, 1950, in Decatur, the son of Raymond and Evelyn Newtson. He married Robyn Bock in 1974. Mr. Newtson attended high school at Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Mo., and earned a bachelor of science degree from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. He worked at A.G. Edwards and Sons for more than 20 years. He was a member, elder and deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was active in Springfield Noon Lions Club, Illinois Coal Development Board and Board of Directors for Kemmerer Village in Assumption.

Survivors: wife, Robyn; a son, Randy of Springfield; a daughter, Rachel of Peoria; mother, Evelyn of Springfield; a sister, Connie of Decatur; an aunt; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Remains will be cremated.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dr. Lonnie Lee officiating.
Burial: Westminster Memorial Garden.

Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of
arrangements.
