Obituary:
Richard Rick” W. Eggebrecht, 63, of Springfield, IL passed away at 12:36 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6th at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 13th, 1946 in Wausau, WI son of Otto and Mary Eggebrecht.

Rick was a graduate of Wausau, WI High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation he served his country in the Vietnam War.

He was employed by Wells Fargo Financial Advisors.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jill Eggebrecht of Springfield; daughter Kristin (husband Drew Smith and their son, Luke) of Carmel, IN; daughter Ashley (husband Brent Cooper) of Fort Collins, CO; sister Eleanor (Paul Kaste) of Tulsa, OK and brother Donald Eggebrecht (Mary) of St. Joseph, MO. There are seven nieces, nephews and their families.

Rick was a past president of Rotary South and was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a frequent volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was active in Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving as both deacon and elder.
Rick enjoyed golfing, racquetball, and spending time with his two daughters and wife.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10th at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Mark Merrill and Dr. Lonnie Lee officiating. A reception will be held immediately following. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
