Philip C. Bradley, Jr., 72, of Chatham, passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Phil was born April 29, 1944 in Springfield, the son of Philip C. and Frances Platt Bradley, Sr. He married Sylvia Sorrill on August 24, 1974 in Alexander.
Phil graduated from Sangamon State University with a bachelor's degree and delivered the very first student commencement speech. He began his career teaching at Little Flower Elementary as a 6th grade teacher. He later became the Director for the Illinois Department of Public Aid and Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services. In 1996, he became the President and CEO of Family Health Network in Chicago.
Phil enjoyed serving in his community, was a member and Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and was a trustee for Lincoln Land Community College for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Bradley of Chatham; and two daughters, Alexandra (John) Viser of St. Louis, MO and Brooke Bradley of Springfield.
