Church Leadership
SESSION (BOARD OF ELDERS)
Within the Presbyterian Church, the primary governing body is the local church Session. It is a representative body made up of the clergy and elders in active service. At Westminster, the Session is moderated by the pastor, and consists of twenty-four (24) elders elected for staggered terms of three (3) years. Tom Owen is currently serving as Clerk of Session. The Session is responsible for the mission and governance of the particular church. It has all the responsibilities and powers listed in The Book of Order, (G-10.0000-.0401) including serving the Sacrament of Communion monthly. For 2025-2026 Communion schedule, click here. BOARD OF DEACONS
The Board of Deacons is composed of twenty-four (24) members of the congregation serving three year terms and up to two (2) one year term deacons who are under 25 years of age. The Deacons are ordained and installed and assume their duties in January of each year and assist the Session in providing leadership and service to the congregation. General responsibilities for the Board of Deacons are listed in the Book of Order, (G-6.0400) including ushering weekly. For the 2025 ushering schedule, click here.
