Weddings at Westminster

Presbyterian Church

The greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13

The establishment of Christian marriages is one of the most important ministries of Westminster Presbyterian Church. A wedding is a sacred occasion filled with many blessings. In the simple marriage rite, the blessings of family, friends, the gathered community and ultimately the blessing of God are brought as gifts to this intense and high moment in the lives of the wedding couple. Guidelines have been established by the church staff to help the bride and groom create a service that will express the couple's personal needs and will also reflect the dignity of a service of worship in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Sanctuary Information

Weddings may be performed in the sanctuary or the library. The sanctuary has 56 pews seating ten to twelve people per pew. The aisle is 125 feet long. Brass candelabra and pew candles are available.

Reception Information

Wedding receptions may be held at the church. The wedding coordinator will assist the wedding couple in working with the Teas and Receptions Service Team to plan the reception. Parish Hall holds approximately 200 people seated at tables.

Members as well as non-members who are interested in being married at Westminster should contact the Church Secretary, Connie Brown, at the church office (217-522-4415) to check date availability and to arrange for a consultation with a member of the pastoral staff.
