Charles Todd “Chuk” Robertson, 47, of Springfield, died at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Sullivan, MO.
Chuk was born on October 20, 1971 in Springfield, the son of Sally Schniedewind Robertson. He married Kelly Robertson on August 3, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Chuk was a 1989 graduate of Mason City High School. He attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was currently employed as a custodian for the Ball-Chatham School District and previously by UIS and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Chuk was an award-winning Tomahawk thrower, a member of the IL Tomahawk Throwers Association, and known for designing and drafting knives and axes. He was also active in local community theatre where he was a member of the Springfield Theatre Centre, Theatre in the Park, and Lincoln Community Theatre. Chuk participated in many shows, as well as Renaissance Fairs. He also enjoyed writing poetry, but above all, his greatest passion was spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother, Darlene Robertson.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Robertson of Springfield; one son, Dustin Robertson of Lincoln, IL; two stepchildren, Ben and Lucy Bassett; one brother, Kyle (wife, Tammie) Robertson of Mason City, IL; and one nephew, Brocton Robertson.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. An additional Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 South Walnut St., Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. Blythe Denham Kieffer officiating.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
