Westminster is joining the Outreach Foundation in overseas church development work. WPC grants of $20,000 and congregational contributions of over $30,000 are funding a Kenyan church & classroom building project. A WPC mission team is traveling in January 2020 to assist in construction and develop cross-cultural ministry connections.
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Mission
Westminster supports numerous denominational mission projects and worldwide ministry of the Presbyterian Church through PC(USA) Mission Giving and Per Capita contributions, ($17,000 and $38,600 respectively for 2019). These funds sustain work at the Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly levels, and come from WPC's Operating Fund, Support & Endowment Fund, and individual per capita giving.
Westminster has a long history of mission. Mission is the Christian response to our call to bring Christ’s love to the world. Westminster spent $161,262 on mission in 2018, approximately 15% of combined operating fund, endowment and Presbyterian Women expenditures.
Presbyterian Women Mission Giving
Presbyterian women directly support and participate in efforts and organizations including Church Women United, a "racially, culturally, theologically inclusive ecumenical women's movement," and other projects including clean water and domestic disaster relief. PW mission giving to these programs totaled $5,459 in 2018, supplemented by $800 from the Westminster Endowment.
