Westminster Junior & Senior High Activities

 

Sunday Youth Schedule

10:00 a.m.

Junior High
This year 6, 7 and 8th graders will be in Sunday School and Youth Group together. 6-8th graders will leave every Sunday (except for the 2nd Sunday) after the children’s sermon and go to the youth room. You will have time to hang out, listen to music and play games and then get to really know the Bible and how it applies to you.
... and eat donuts too.

On the 2nd Sunday, stay in worship and receive Communion.

Senior High

Sermon review with Youth Leaders in the Youth Room
5:00 p.m. in the Tower Room Freshmen Confirmation Class
Preparation for Church Membership

5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Junior High Fellowship (6th -8th grade)
6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Junior and Senior High Fellowship Dinner
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Senior High Fellowship (9th- 12th Grade)

Youth Groups at Westminster Presbyterian Church are led by a dedicated team of adults. A focus of the Youth Program promotes the development of moral and spiritual values as well as healthy attitudes and emotions.

A highlight of the senior high year is the annual Group Workcamps Mission Trip. Students and adults spend one week painting, roofing and repairing homes in impoverished areas in the United States. Campers share their stories of faith and growth with the congregation the Sunday after they return. See the Youth Mission Trip Pictures for this year's highlights.

Youth Activities

Youth activities that occur throughout the year may include: Trivia Night to raise money for Mission Trip, Spud Bake (Fundraiser for Contact Ministries), Ski Trip, Car Wash to raise money for the Mission Trip, Youth Sunday, Camping Trip, trip to Six Flags, Confirmation Class, Movie Night, CROP Walk to raise money for the food pantries, Halloween “Almost” Lock-In, Sr. High Overnight Retreat, Shopping for Contact Ministries, Christmas Eve Candle Lighting Service for High School Seniors, Baccalaureate Service for Graduating Seniors.

Confirmation Class

The confirmation class is held for high school freshmen and meets Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in the Tower Room from September through Easter. Classes include Bible study, exploring the Presbyterian faith and attending diverse worship services. Each class member is required to share a statement of faith and complete several projects. 4:00 p.m. Chapter 6 in concert at Westminster.

No Confirmation Class. Youth will participate in dinner following the concert.

Feb. 17-18

Youth Ski Trip.

5:00 p.m. Sunday: Combined Youth Group off-site for those not going on the ski trip.

Mar. 18 Youth Sunday (8:30 & 10:00 a.m. services)
April 22 Confirmation Sunday (10:00 a.m. service)
